There has to be a song ~
There are too many dark nights
too many troublesome days,
too many wearisome miles.
There has to be a song ~
To make our burdens bearable,
To make our hopes believable,
To transform our successes into praise,
To release the chains of past defeats,
Somewhere - down deep in a forgotten
corner of each man's heart -
There has to be a song ~
Like a cool, clear drink of water,
Like the gentle warmth of sunshine,
Like the tender love of a child,
There has to be a song.

Inspiration is Everywhere
Friends,
In our day to day responsibilities, it is easy to loose sight of the big picture. We get stressed by all the "have-to's" and forget to enjoy the small things that make life wonderful.

Inspiration is everywhere. A smile (or hug) from a friend or stranger, a dog walking on two legs, a song. What inspires you to do more, to be more, to live a full life?
"I am your friend and my love for you goes deep. There is nothing I can give you which you do not have; but there is much, very much, that while I cannot give it, you can take.
No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in today. Take heaven! No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present instant. Take peace!
The gloom of the world is but a shadow. Behind it, yet within reach, is joy. There is radiance and glory in the darkness, could we but see, and to see, we have only to look. I beseech you to look" -Fra Giovanni Giocondo (1433-1515)

New Directions
Year SEVEN. My lucky number. My mom always says, "if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got." So let's try a few new things, see if it works. I want this year to be about kickin' it up a notch (thanks Emeril!). This blog is part of that vision, the website is another. I challenge you to reflect on our rehearsals, to push yourself to be that much better each day. I am challenging myself to the same. Ask yourself what you bring to rehearsal. Each member brings something vital and unique; that is what makes a choir live and breathe.
My goals for us:
- Connect
- Respect
- Joy in each moment
- Productivity/Efficiency
- Outreach/Communicate
- Triumph
- Sing our hearts out!
Go the extra mile, it's never crowded.
_____________________________________________________________In addition to your goals for choir and for yourself as a singer, please be sure to share what unique character traits, strengths, or talents you bring to the ensemble.
TO WRITE YOUR REFLECTION, CLICK ON THE COMMENTS IMMEDIATELY BELOW THIS POST. PLEASE DO NOT START A NEW THREAD. HAPPY REFLECTING!
