New Directions

Year SEVEN. My lucky number. My mom always says, "if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got." So let's try a few new things, see if it works. I want this year to be about kickin' it up a notch (thanks Emeril!). This blog is part of that vision, the website is another. I challenge you to reflect on our rehearsals, to push yourself to be that much better each day. I am challenging myself to the same. Ask yourself what you bring to rehearsal. Each member brings something vital and unique; that is what makes a choir live and breathe.

My goals for us:
  • Connect

  • Respect

  • Joy in each moment

  • Productivity/Efficiency

  • Outreach/Communicate

  • Triumph

  • Sing our hearts out!

Go the extra mile, it's never crowded.

I am really excited about being in mixed choir this year. Last year in Belle, we did a lot of messing around and not a lot of singing. I am excited to work with a more dedicated group this year and hope that we can be as successfull as possible. I also hope to become more confident in my solo singing abilities. Hopefully this year will be tons of fun!

This year as a member of the EHS Cantorei, my goals are to go to as many competitions as possible and to compete to the best of our abilities. To me, a great choir consists of members that get along well with each other and act appropriately in a public setting. As a freshman, I promise to be as outgoing as possible and to be involved with the choir. By Savannah

My Goals
Hey everyone,
Are you ready for a new and exciting year of choir? I know I am!!
Here are a few of my goals for not only Mixed but all of the choirs.
I would like to see everyone getting along and not having so much competition. A little friendly competition is good, but if you can't get along with another person just because of what choir they are in, we will never get anywhere when we all perform together. For Mixed I would like to see us be disciplined, and respectful. There are mostly upperclassmen in there so we need to set a good example. We need to show respect to ourselves and everyone else. I am looking forward to a wonderful year and new challenges. Have an awesome year everyone!!!!

I am extremely excited to be in both the mixed choir and cantorei this year. I really love to sing and I believe that being in both choirs will decrease my stage fright and increase my vocal abilities. I feel that what I bring to the group is a well blending voice and hard working attitude.
My goals for the groups are:
-to be even better than last year
-for all groups to get ones at contest
-have fun
-Sing out!
My personal goals are:
-get a 2 on my solos at contest
-relieve any of my stage fright
-increase my range to 3 octaves

I know we can be great and I hope that everyone is ready to work hard and be awesome.

I am very excited for this year's mixed choir. Last year was somewhat disappointing in the work ethic aspect. I am ready to see the higher level of dedication from this advanced choir, and experience the great sound we are going to have!

This year, I am so motivated to do the best I can at everything I put my heart into. Choir is one of those things of course. But I suppose my major goal for this year in choir is to put emotion and passion into every note I sing.

This year is going to be big! My goals that I have for choir this year is to stay focused and work hard. We not only need to focus on whats right in front of us, but what is coming up in the future, like concerts and competitions. Being in a new choir with new faces is going to be different this year, but i think that we can work together to build a better and stronger choir. This year is going to be awesome!

Everyone so far has said how excited they are to be involved in our choir program, and I can't help but feel the same. This year we are trying lots of new things that I think we will be successful in. Mixed choir being the one i personally am most excited about. Another personal change for me in choir, is that I will be singing alto. I haven't sang alto since middle school but I welsome the challenge. The older I get the more our choral department seems to flourish. Which is extremely exciting. I am determined to make this Ms. Yarnell's best year as a eacher at EHS, and I hope my fellow choir members will help me achieve this goal. I know we can do it...and I fully intend to :D

I am really excited this year about being in both cantorei and mixed choir. I think it is going to be an exciting year and all of our choirs have great potential. I hope we all have great success on all levels and everyone works hard. Another goal of mine is to become more confident singing solos.

I am really excited to be in choir again this year. Choir is so much fun! I think that whatever class you are in, belle, canteori, or even mixed, it doesn't matter. Just because you are in Cantori doesn't make it any better. The only thing that makes it better is if everyone in every class work hard and get ones at the festival. My goals for class would be to 1. focus 2. try to accomplish hard tasks and 3. have tons of fun! My number one personal goal would be to overcome stage fright of singing solos. 2. would hopefully, I'll make second soprano because I have been singing in altos for long. If I'm an alto again, it'll be another fun year! :-D

I'm so excited to be a part of Mixed Choir. I have heard fantastic things about the high school choirs and cannot wait until we start singing so I can join in. I've never been an alto before, so that in itself is a new experience. I think it should be really fun. I really want to be part of a more disciplined choir, something much more mature than the ones in middle school. I hope to be more confident and fuller in my singing. I hope we can make this year as great as it should be!

Hey everyone. I'm really excited to be in cantorei this year. I think that this year is going to be amazing. My goal is to get over my fear of singing in front of people. I also want to do as many solos as possible to show everyone that I can sing beautifully and that I can be confident. I think that Cantorei this year will be better then ever.

This year is my third year in High School choir and I am super excited and confident. I am glad to have new people and new voices in the choir and I'm excited to see what is in store for us and how amazing we are truely going to be!! I am going to try and exceed in my solos for compition and be leader for my choir. Singing is one of my favorite things to do.. and I am so excited for the choir year!!!

I always have been a fan of choir, even before i joined the eudora choir. It has always represented an "out" for me. But, what i would like to improve on is, i realize that i can express myself and go the extra mile WHILE singing, but in between songs and practices, i want to be more outgoing. try out for more solos, things outside of just the ordinary school day. i know a lot of people over the years that were really outgoing that really made others enjoy choir, they were role models for others. even though i have 2 years left, i want to leave choir being at least one person's role model.

Im pretty excited this year and still in belle. haha But it's nice to have the guys with us too!! It's pretty cool to have them singing a little bit with us. Im hoping that belle will be even better this year than we were last year. And having the guys this year in our class might help. My goal this year is to still be part of one but to also stick out in tryouts for solo's and things but in a good way. As a lot of people know i usually dont like trying out for things cause of stage fright but i've come to realize that i do have a talent for singing and i shouldn't be afraid to let others listen; this isn't just about me this goes for eveyone else that you do have a good voice and you shouldn't be afriad to let others hear you. But just remember don't brag too much and have fun haha..... anyways another goal is to encourage everyone to win a 1 at state.

I just want to start out saying that this being my last year, I really expect to have a great year and just have fun. I want to work hard with everyone else in this special group to sound the best we can. My goals are to be a stronger singer and to be more of a leader. This is my fourth year of choir, I should be up for the challenge.

I'm super excited that I'm back in choir! Although, I am going to miss our Belle group from last year, but I think that this year is going to be an amazing opportunity for everyone. So far, I think Belle seems like a fun, dedicated group for choir. We are all so diverse, but I think that is going to be one of the best years in choir I have EVER had. I really hope that this year, we will all be ready to learn, and squish this talking thing. Hopefully with the new choirs we will have an amazing year and amazing memories!!

Much Love--
Cassie ♥

Pretty stoked on this year we are going to be one force to be reckoned with in all of the Comps... Last years mens did a real good job last year hopefully loosing people will have no effect on us this year and we will be even stronger... I think we can really do well this year if we canstay on task and little talking as possible i say little cause no talking at all... thats just not realistic...And really singing out and show why we are in this advanced class..

Wow... Finally in High School. I didn't think I would make it lol. I didn't expect the mens and women's choir to be together either. I really hope we all do good at competitions.

I think its really kind of cool how Ms. Yarnell decided to put the Mens and Womens together in one class. But so far it doesn't seem to be bad. I think that it was a very cool idea and maybe after this year if it all works out it should stay that way forever. Well i hope for an UBER awesome year and am very EXCITED. Some of my goals are pretty original, like getting over the fear of singing in front of everyone! (ohhhh the horror!!!!!)

Sorry for how long this took, pretty busy and what not. I am really excited for this year, i know we are gonna have a really good sound but we have to work for it and right now we need to work harder stay on task, accomplish something a little more everyday. We are all a good group of singers and the seniors have worked very hard over the past years to have a great sound and build up the choir that we have now. Lets keep the tradition alive and flowing! Im gonna be sad to see it all go at the end but i know that the tradition will live on.
